New GPS Chip From Broadcom Comes With Improved Indoor Tracking And Battery Life

Battery life is increasingly a major concern of the users and, consequently, of the vendors. So now, Broadcom has announced a new GPS chip that will  come with 50 percent more battery life and will be able to deliver indoor positioning far more effectively. The new chip is being touted as BCM4752.

One of the important features of this new chip from Broadcom is that it comes with a low-power Blutooth, so that you may be able to determine  your location even if you are deep indoors. The company says that it will correspond with advanced chip with equally improved tracking performance through Bluetooth beacons. According to Broadcom, the chip will make use of data from gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer and altimeter and through that, deliver pretty accurate location information.

The new chip may also be quite effective in letting you get a lock in densely populated areas as well as when you get off the main routes. Another very significant feature of the chip is that its battery will be able to juice up the chip 50 percent more while at the same time occupying far less space inside your device.

Finally, the third most enticing feature of this new chip is that it comes with built-in NFC. So once you have it on your device, you shall have no qualms with contactless payments, a service that is about to come out on a lot of handsets soon.
