Starting from this week, Samsung Electronics put out a new app that has been dubbed “YouTube on TV” and is intended for the Samsung Smart TV customers worldwide. This app will enrich your movie library with about 8,000 more HD movies, dramas and videos that are available on YouTube.
Now, you will be able to stream as many YouTube videos as you like, adding lots of 3D videos to the existent but limited 3D YouTube playlist most users already have. YouTube has accumulated quite a large library of professional videos, as well as user home made videos. But will this experience be enough to make you crave a real 3D television in the future?
A Samsung spokesperson recently commented that the company is very excited to be the first one to bring to the masses the tri-dimensional YouTube experience. He also advertised quite a little bit, saying that the Samsung Smart TV is the ideal platform for users to enjoy as mush 3D content as they want. Samsung feels this partnership will help the growth of 3D and internet based television to evolve.
From the other camp, Francisco Varela, global head of platform partnerships, at YouTube said that launch of YouTube on TV underscores one of YouTube’s core missions: making high-quality video available to all sorts of people, in all the environments possible and on any device. 3D videos on YouTube can now be shared through high-quality-large-screen Smart TVs.”
