Photography aficionados who are always on pins and needles about the incapability of their camera to ride out after falling into the water have just got a reason to smile. Sanyo has just slid the wraps off an all-new Full HD dual camera that can be used underwater, the DMX-CA100.

Emerging as an ideal choice for all kinds of outdoor activities, the new waterproof solution offers a combination of style, reliability and top-notch performance. The Dual Camera Xacti now allows users to easily capture both photos and videos in daily life with a sense of satisfaction. Designed to be convenient, the stylish DMX-CA100 offers a dual camera model that is both handy and reliable for active outdoor living, daily activities, and leisure pursuits.

DMX-CA100 besides beautiful design has a lot to offer to its user. This camera isn’t planned to be used for formal events, instead it is intended to average users that will make the most of it in everyday situations. In those everyday situations it can happen that your camera falls to water, but don’t worry, even if your Xacti DMX-CA100 falls into water it will still record for another 60 minutes. This camera can work under three meters of water without any problems, making it perfect for all those people who enjoy their time outdoors.

Sanyo’s PR claims this camera is the “world’s first waterproof full HD camera,” but unfortunately for them Kodak beat them to the punch. A caveat at the bottom of the PR clarifies that this claim was merely meant for “Full HD video cameras for consumer use with optical zoom lenses,” which naturally makes everything better. Plus there’s not point in getting down on Sanyo, since it’s essentially delivered its classic Xacti form factor and middle-of-the-road image quality in a waterproof (up to 10 feet) chassis.

Claimed to be the world’s first waterproof Full HD Dual Camera, the 14 megapixel device can be used to a depth of 3 meters underwater for up to 60 minutes. Users can now capture their precious moments in all kinds of year-round outdoor conditions. Its video format ‘MPEG-4 AVC/H.264’ enables videos to be handled on a computer or the Internet using a single file, just like a still photo.
The camera comes equipped with High-Speed Sequential Shooting feature that allows users to capture up to 22 photos at 7 frames per second (in 2M Continuous mode), based on its high-speed CMOS sensor and the new high-speed video processing engine. Apart from this, the format fully supported by the latest Windows 7 operating system makes it even more convenient to use on a PC.

Besides it’s waterproof this camera has a lot more to offer to its users. This camera can capture 14 mega-pixel photos, as well as Full HD video. In addition, this camera has High-Speed Sequential Shooting that allows you to capture 22 photos at seven frames per second which makes it perfect for all those situations where you can easily miss photo opportunities. In addition, a great feature is that you can easily switch between video and photo capture with two buttons that are placed under your thumb.

The DMX-CA100 will be launched at the end of june for some unnamed price, and shoots 1080p video to H.264, 14 megapixel stills, and offers a 6x optical zoom augmented by a 6x “Advanced Zoom” that crops the image sensor instead of just blowing up the pixels like a regular digital zoom.

So with all the great features and simplicity this model has a lot to offer both for average users and especially for those that are always on the go and enjoy spending time outdoors.
