You Can Now Interact Through Motion Gestures With New Kinect-Enabled Ads

We reported a while ago about Microsoft’s ambitious plan of bringing the awesomeness of its motion-sensor Kinect hardware to TV advertisement. The company had famously titled it ‘NUads.’ And now, it seesm that Microsoft is finally planning to roll out such ads pretty soon.

This new ad platform for Xbox, which will be making use of Kinect, will be launched during the later part of this year by Microsoft. Given the fact that the company is also working on adding voice-understanding capabilities to the ads, the users will be able to ‘wave’ to their TV or simply tell it to do something while watching an ad.

Initially, NUads will be offered by three giants, Samsung, Toyota and Unilever. A video from Microsoft does afford a glimpse as to what these ads may be like and they are quite interesting and engaging, something which will make the advertisers happy.

Microsoft has plans of making these ads available within Xbox Live and also on a number of Xbox TV apps. The philosophy behind such ads is essentially to let the users have another ‘option’ rather than skipping the ads. The users can simply choose the option which will make him feel that he has greater freedom over the content he is viewing and the way he is viewing it.

This will also make ads much more interesting and interactive for the users, which can open a lot of more possibilities for advertisers on Kinect-enabled platform.
