Rumor: A 10-Inch Kindle Fire Tablet May Be Released By Amazon In Late 2012 Or Early 2013

Amazon was able to mass huge fan following for its Kindle Fire tablet. One of the chief reasons why it was able to do so was that Kindle Fire was a fairly decent tablet with a price tag of $199. And that price tag had many drooling, bolstering Kindle Fire sales by a huge figure within a few days. Now, Kindle has new design for its tablet line-up.

Imagine getting a Kindle Fire for $150! That’s like taking it too far since it has been reported earlier that Amazon was barely making any money selling its Kindle Fire tablets at $199 and had plans of earning from the Amazon purchases made on these tablets rather. And now that the rumors of a further decline in Kindle Fire are doing their rounds, it seems that either Amazon is gambling heavily on its prospective success or the production costs have been inaccurately reported.

This fresh rumor has been served by DigiTimes which says that one of its reported met sources in the supply chain of Amazon’s tablet. It further claims that the same sources have divulged that Amazon has plans of carrying forth the success of its 7-inch tablet by the third quarter of the fiscal year. This new tablet will be better than earlier Kindle Fire model in its resolution yet will carry the same price tag, i.e. $100.

Another interesting claim made by this source is that Amazon also has design of taking the big-wigs of the 10-inch tablet market head-on by releasing a 10-inch tablet of its own. This 10-inch Kindle tablet will allegedly be released during Q4 2012 or Q1 2013. This current claim corroborates a rumor of similar nature in the recent past.

Naturally, all of this is speculation for now and will remain so until Amazon confirms any of this officially. However, it would make sense that Amazon tries to carry forth its success rather than contenting itself with current Kindle Fire tablet or it can face a very fast oblivion from the tablet market.
