Pinterest Finally Opens Up To Public

Pinterest is the up and coming social network that has steadily been gaining traction and is considered one of the most wildly successful ventures right now. The very reason for its success is the novel concept which forms its basis – letting users ‘pin’ their likes to ‘boards.’ The visual appeal of the website has definitely a lot to do with its meteoric rise.

Until now, Pinterest had been invite-only. Although it already has millions of users, the social network could be joined only through an invitation from someone who was already a part of it. That, by no means, slowed down the growth of the website but certainly means that a lot more users would want in as soon as the restriction is lifted.

And now, Pinterest has finally decided to go public. Anyone can join the site through a valid email address or even through their Facebook or Twitter ids.

According to the official blog post, “We’re really excited to have the capacity to offer Pinterest to more people and if you’re a Pinner with friends who’ve been waiting on the sidelines, we hope you’ll let them know. Happy pinning to everyone!”

Naturally, we can expect that the population of Pinterest may experience an even steeper growth now that it has gone public. If you wish to join the website, head straight to its home page here.
