Earlier we have seen LG launching world’s first 55-inch curved OLED HDTV. Following LG, today Samsung has launched 55-inch curved OLED TV in South Korea.
The 55-inch curved OLED TV is said to provide the ideal platform for panoramic viewing and taking in nature scenes. It also comes with a multi-view option that lets two people watch separate shows simultaneously. This works though the use of 3D technology, via glasses that have built-in audio hardware that delivers sound to individual viewers.
Hyunsuk Kim, executive vice president of Samsung, “We are proud to be able to deliver on our promise of bringing our Curved OLED TV to the market. With this product we’re able to offer customers an immersive viewing experience and flawless picture quality. The Curved OLED TV is a ground-breaking, future-proof product that pioneers a new era of TV viewing.”
This 55-inch curved OLED HDTV will cost 15 million Korean won (around £8,500/$13,000). Samsung will begin rolling out the new curved OLED TV outside of South Korea next month, though it did not specify which countries. In addition, Samsung does not plan to launch a flat screen OLED TV this year.
