You may soon see extensive revamping of the Mozilla Firefox homepage. Mozilla is also working on the browser-view of Firefox and the news are that the looks of the ‘new tabs’ in Mozilla, which currently tad bit old-fashioned, will soon be updated to look them like the new tabs in Chrome and Safari. Mozilla also intends to add the ‘URL completion’ feature to its browser. This feature is also currently used in Chrome and has been wildly popular because of its usefulness.
The new features that will be visible on the home page, such as apps, are being termed ‘launchers.’ For instance, when on the home-page, you can hit the launcher and go directly to downloads, settings or apps. During phase 2, which is more extensive than phase 1, Mozilla will update the home page with most recent websites, like in Chrome, and also with chat functionality.
When these updates will be aggregated to the home page is not clear yet. Latest updates point that most probably, the major revamps will be part of Firefox 13.
