Adobe Has Issued An Emergency Update To Patch Flash Vulnerability

Adobe’s Flash is one of the most popular products from the company. A critical vulnerability was recently discovered in the software and Adobe has now dished out an emergency update to patch it.

The Flash vulnerability is present in Windows, Mac and Linux machines. More specifically, Windows and Mac users who have Flash Player 12.0.0.43 and earlier installed need to apply the patch right away. Linux users who have Flash Player 11.2.202.335 and earlier also need to update to the new version.

The list below, provided by Adobe, gives a detailed account of which Flash versions are vulnerable on what platforms:

  • Users of Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.43 and earlier versions for Windows and Macintosh should update to Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44.
  • Users of Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.335 and earlier versions for Linux should update to Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.336.
  • Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.41 installed with Google Chrome will automatically be updated to the latest Google Chrome version, which will include Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 for Windows, Macintosh and Linux.
  • Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.38 installed with Internet Explorer 10 will automatically be updated to the latest Internet Explorer 10 version, which will include Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 for Windows 8.0.
  • Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.38 installed with Internet Explorer 11 will automatically be updated to the latest Internet Explorer 11 version, which will include Adobe Flash Player 12.0.0.44 for Windows 8.1.

In simple words, you probably need to update to the new version right now. Simply go to Adobe’s Flash Player page and download the latest version of the software, no matter what platform you are using it with.
