Mac OS X 10.8 Beta Brings The Option Of Location-Based Reminders

When Apple released the first preview of OS X Mountain Lion 10.8, it gave the users the option of scheduling date-based reminders. However, iOS users have long been enjoying the option of location-based reminders too and Mac users have been envying this particular feature. Now, in the second preview of OS X 10.8, Apple has also included the option of location-based reminders, another indication that Apple is working hard to bring iOS and Mac together.

So how will it work on a Mac? Well…you need to be connected to Wi-Fi to make use of the feature. When you are connected to Wi-Fi, the Mac will automatically alert you about a particular location if you have scheduled about it, as soon as you arrive at that location. This is precisely the same feature that iPhone users have been to avail since long.

Another very useful feature of the location-based reminders in OS X 10.8 Beta is that you can sync these location-based reminders with your iOS devices using iCloud. So if you are using the feature on your Mac and you have an iPhone with you when you reach the set location, you can receive the reminder about it right on your iPhone!
