Japanese blog Macotakara has claimed that Apple is redesigning its iPod Nano and is planning to launch the redesigned iPod nano later this year. According to the blog, the upcoming iPod nano will come back to an oblong style form. The new iPod will have a dedicated home button instead of click-wheel, similar to current iOS devices. The case size will be smaller in 3 quarters than iPod nano’s fifth-generation, and thickness will be thinner than iPod nano’s sixth-generation.
According to CNET, the new iPod nano will have a fully working version of iOS. Macotakara also hints that Apple will be introducing a dedicated new iTunes service to the device. However, the blog did not say, where the ‘rumored’ device would fit in with Apple’s iPod line, considering its vicinity to the iPod Touch.
Earlier, we have seen that Macotakara has provided correct information about iPad 2 and 3 design details. This rumor can also prove to be fruitful. To be sure, we have to wait till fall.
