Chris Chang over at M.I.C Gadget published 2 photos that purportedly show the next iPhone (aka, the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S). The white iPhone sports a larger screen, possibly 3.7 to 4 inches wide (the current screen is 3.5 inches), with a form factor that maintains the current width and styling of the iPhone 4. The new screen sits nearly flush with the edge of the phone, with only a sliver for the bezel.
M.I.C Gadget reports:
Man, we don’t know if this is real, but at least we can see that it has a larger display and edge-to-edge glass. Maybe it’s a mockup, but we are sure that it’s not an iPhone 4. One more pic after the break, comparing to an unofficial white iPhone 4 front panel.
Folks at M.I.C Gadget are not sure whether it is the real deal nor have them mentioned the source of these photos. The photos reveal a slightly taller and wider screen resulting in a smaller bezel compared to iPhone 4.
Other recent rumors for the upcoming iPhone include a “one world” iPhone that combines CDMA and GSM radios into one phone, thus negating the need for a separate “Verizon” version. Apple is also supposedly testing an iPhone 4 compatible with T-Mobile USA’s 3G network, something current iPhone’s can’t connect to (AT&T Wireless purchased T-Mobile this spring in order to expand its network). Other rumored tidbits are the inclusion of a faster Apple A5 CPU, a complete redesign that includes a sloped backed, and a better 12MP camera with 1080p/60 fps video recording.
