Search Results In Apple.com Confirm iPhone 5 Name, New iPod And 4G LTE

While we are barely hours away from the iPhone 5 launch event, a number of hints have emerged over the past few days which seem to have revealed a lot about what we might see at the event. To add to them, now it has been discovered that when you search for iPhone 5 on Apple’s official website, it does return a number of search results.

iPhone 5 Search

This evidently confirms that ‘iPhone 5’ is indeed a valid term and thus that is precisely what Apple is going to name the next iPhone. The search results include links to a press release and other pages on the site.

For now, the links are not working. Again, this hints that the pages are there on the site but haven’t yet been made available by Apple, apparently waiting for the launch event.

Interestingly, when you search for ‘iPhone 5 – LTE’ on the website, that again returns a number of search results, confirming that the new iPhone is going to feature 4G LTE.

In the same vein, when you search for ‘New iPod Touch’, which is also expected to be unveiled during today’s event, you get a link which mentions this term and is dated today. However, the link is not yet available.

The presence of these links on Apple’s site confirm that Apple is going to unveil an iPhone 5 with 4G LTE as well as an iPod Touch. The search results also mention something about a new iTunes. You won’t be able to access most of the links yet since they are dead for now – but we are sure that once Apple’s launch event happens, the links are going to go live.
