On June 19, Microsoft unveiled 2 Surface tablets. They were Surface and Surface Pro. But during the wrapped off time, it didn’t mention the price of any tablet. But, a Swedish website Webhallen without knowing the price started taking orders for Surface tablets!!!

But CNET spotted that in an SEC filing, the software maker Microsoft has confirmed that they are going to launch Surface tablet for Windows RT on October 26. If you have forgotten, then need to remind you guys that, Windows 8 is also going to be released on the same day.

Microsoft filed its annual report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In that filing, it was mentioned, “The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices.”

However, Microsoft this time also didn’t mention the pricing for the Surface tablets, which run Windows 8 or Windows RT. But it is being expected that Windows RT operating system based products will be in a range of $500-$600 and Windows 8 Pro operating system based products will be around $1,000, or possibly higher.

To be remembered, on 26 October, Microsoft will launch Windows RT tablets only. The Intel-based Surface Pro is supposed to be released about 90 days later, near about on 26 January, 2013.
