Yesterday Super Bowl XLIV kicked off. American Football Conference (AFC) champion Indianapolis Colts played against the National Football Conference (NFC) champion New Orleans Saints to decide the National Football League (NFL) champion for the 2009 season. The New Orleans Saints defeated the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 31–17, earning their first Super Bowl win. The game was played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, and the game’s kickoff took place at 6:28 p.m. EST (23:28 UTC) on February 7, 2010, the latest calendar date for a Super Bowl yet.

Aside from the game, the Super Bowl ads that had been aired yesterday night were also highly anticipated. It is perhaps one of the most prestigious advertising spot that every brand have been eyeing for in their entire lives. Google finally aired their commercials as rumored earlier. YouTube on the other hand was also prepared for the event via its AdBlits channel.
YouTube delivered on its promise to upload all the Super Bowl Ads as soon as they aired today, with users voting to choose which one will adorn the YouTube front page on Thursday.
The tech and web ads were a mixed bunch: both the established GoDaddy “Too Hot for TV” schtick and Motorola’s decision to put Megan Fox in a bathtub stuck to the “sex sells” mantra, while Monster.com returned with a “Fiddling Beaver”. Intel went for a quirky “lunch room” ad while Vizio chose star power in its Beyonce commercial.
