Price Of Twitter Promoted Trends Raised To $200,000 Per Day

Micro-blogging site Twitter‘s Promoted Trends feature allows advertisers promote their brands in the trending section of Twitter. Earlier, advertisers had to pay $150,000 per day to promote their brands in the trending section. Lately, Twitter has raised the price of Promoted Trends to $200,000 per day.

Twitter 'Promoted Trends'

The price hike went into effect earlier this year. Last year, the daily price of Promoted Trends was $1,50,000, but from this year buying a trend cost advertisers $200,000 per day, which is a 33 percent increase over the last year’s rate. Be noted, Twitter’s price of Promoted Trends in 2010 was $80,000 per day.

If Twitter sells one promoted Trend a day, then the new price schedule will bring $73 million in yearly revenues just from this source only. The move comes at a time when Twitter is preparing for an IPO as early as next year. To increase its valuation, the microblogging site needs to increase its revenue streams.
