Ailing Child Became NFL Team Coach For A Day

Jack Bolton is an 8-year old kid who has spinal muscular atrophy. The condition has limited him to a wheelchair and severely affects his respiratory system. One of Bolton’s dearest wishes was to become an NFL team coach for a day, a wish which was recently granted.

The key credit goes to the Make-A-Wish foundation which somehow came to know of Bolton’s wish of coaching an NFL team. The foundation then turned the wish into reality by reaching out to the NFL teams.

Bolton first signed a one-day contract according to which, he was to help the headman Ron Rivera lead the Panthers team. Bolton was to coach the team during the training camp which took place on the day. The boy wrote a speech to commemorate the event, but when he was shy in delivering it, Rivera read it out loud to everyone present.

At the end of the speech, the players gave Bolton a standing ovation and discussed their game strategy with him. They signed autographs for him and in turn, even Bolton wrote down an autograph for one of the players. A video about the whole event is posted below.
