Rumors have been doing rounds on the web about a Microsoft Office for iPad app. In fact, The Daily has gone on to even present what it calls the ‘first glimpse’ of the app running on the tablet. According to The Daily’s Matt Hickey, he got to spend some time with a ‘working prototype’ of the app and that the app for the Office suite has the same metro-look that Microsoft seems focused on, of late. Microsoft, on the other hand, has debunked these claims as ‘based on inaccurate rumors and speculation.’

A small but feisty Swedish company, Neonode figured out how to integrate a slide to unlock feature in its phones, long before Apple even considering making an iPhone. The legal battle between Proview Technology and Apple is raging in China. Both companies are locked in a dispute over the trademark rights of ‘iPad.’ Proview claims that it originally owns the rights for iPad trademark in China whereas Apple is of the opinion that it purchased the rights from Proview years ago. Now, the Intermediate People’s Court in Chinese city of Huizhou has ruled that distributors should immediately stop selling iPad devices in China.

Now that we are nearly sure that Apple will most certainly unveil the much anticipated tablet, iPad 3, within the first week of March, the rumor-mill has now turned it’s attention to the sixth-generation iPhone. So far, Apple has released five iPhone devices which include the original iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. Now, Apple is expected to release iPhone 5 or whatever it terms the sixth-generation iPhone. As if Kodak’s woes are not already sufficient to possibly sink it’s ship, Apple is gearing up to now weight against the company over allegations of patent infringement. Kodak has already filed for bankruptcy and has abandoned it’s ‘camera business.’ It filed case against the use of a patent technology that it claims Apple and RIM have violated. Apple plans to launch a counter-suit, to claim that the technology originally was developed by Apple itself.

Pegatron is one of Apple’s chief manufacturers for MacBook Air. Incidentally, Pegatron also produces Asustek’s Zenbook. There are a whole lot of similarities in the look and design of the two notebooks. That of course disgruntles Apple who likes to keep it’s design and the looks of it’s devices, exclusive and protected. And so now, Apple has told Pegatron to choose between the two. With things going pretty well with Apple’s MacBook Air, it’s natural that Pegatron has chosen to side with MacBook Air and will stop production of Zenbook soon.
