We’ve asked Amazon not to copy the App Store name because it will confuse and mislead customers
Apple’s Comments:
“Amazon has begun improperly using Apple’s App Store mark in connection with Amazon’s mobile software developer program,” Apple said in the complaint. Amazon also plans to use the name with a mobile software download service, the complaint states.
Apple had applied for the patent to use the name ‘App Store’ in 2008 and got the approval in 2010. Apple has mentioned that it had contacted Amazon over this issue three times, however, haven’t received any ‘Substantive Response’. Apple has filed this complaint on the 18th March 2011
