LinkedIn Will Begin Mobile Ads Later This Year

Mobile ads are getting important and it is one source that brands do not want to miss out on when it comes to their promotion and advertisements. Mobile ads industry is growing day by day and this is due to the increase in mobile users and mobile internet access. LinkedIn became the newest giant social media company this month to join in the line of those who are planning for their mobile ads when their marketing team works on promoting their brands.

The CEO Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn has said that mobile access represents an ever-growing share of time users spend with LinkedIn. LinkedIn has made a mapped out plan to capture mobile audience more. In August last year, it renewed its apps for Android and iOS and brought out a new mobile site as well. This is one of the reasons why mobile is the fastest growing service on LinkedIn and gets the site more than 15% of the total unique visitors.

This is one opportunity the company surely does not want to leave out as it provides for earning big bucks. According to him, LinkedIn is searching for new ways to monetize page views. He said:

“We’re going to start to run some tests with regard to advertising some of our marketing solutions within the mobile environment.”

What type of mobile ads LinkedIn plans on doing is still an insider’s information which has not been spilled out to media. One can only find out when the ads begin to be there on our mobile screens. According to the Financial Times, Facebook, which is the first social media tech giant announcing to start mobile ads for their 420 million mobile users, will begin its mobile ads sometime in early March.

The reason that LinkedIn is considered to be a professional site and is used by industry experts has made it explore newer venues for its audiences. This confidence comes out of the assurance that it is making the right moves as an internet business. It is the third largest social networking platform in the U.S. having 33.5 million unique viewers according to comScore. With such newer ventures as mobile ads, LinkedIn can certainly increase its growth and reach up the ladder.
