Samsung Hired Protesters To ‘WAKE UP’ Apple Fans

The rivalry between Samsung and Apple is getting worse.  Earlier this week, Samsung hired some protesters who were gathered in front of an Apple store in Sydney and kept shouting “WAKE UP.” Protesters arrived in front of the Apple store in a bus branded ‘WAKE UP’. Blogger  Nate “Blunty” Burr captured protesters chanting the ‘Wake Up’ slogan and showing the ‘WAKE UP’ placards outside the Apple store.  Although the protesters didn’t answer why Apple fans need to wake up, it is believed to be part of the campaign Samsung started for the launch of Galaxy S3 in Australia.

Samsung has paid an Australian marketing company called Tongue to provide protesters to stand before an Australian Apple Store and yell, “WAKE UP.” Boarding on a black bus, the protesters were sent outside an Apple Store on George Street in Sydney. Though the protesters didn’t mention why Apple fans need to “wake up” or what they’re waking up from, but it is being assumed that the protesters were trying to highlight Samsung’s upcoming Android handset Samsung Galaxy S3 which has Exynos 4 Quad processor is better than Apple iPhone and inspire people to buy Samsung phones rather than buying Apple iPhones.

The ‘WAKE UP’ slogan has also been found written on the bottom of Bondi Ice Bergs pool, as well as on a series of billboards placed around town.

A website called Wake Up Australia is counting down the launch date of Samsung Galaxy S3. Check out the video where protesters were gathered in front of a Sydney Apple Store.

In other markets, a teaser for the Samsung Galaxy depicts people as sheep for buying Apple’s iPhone.

UPDATE: According to new revelations, Samsung was not behind the ‘WAKE UP’ campaign. The campaign was launched by Research In Motion (RIM).
