JetBlue Explores Google Glass Application In Airport Travel

To notch up the excitement surrounding the Google Glass project, the search giant recently launched a contest, asking people to suggest ideas as to how people may use the device in their everyday lives. JetBlue, the airline, came up with an interesting integration of Google Glass in Airport travel.

The contest was trending on the social media sites under the hashtag #IfIHadGlass. Thousands of people participated in it, presenting their creative applications for the Google Glass.

The idea presented by JetBlue was naturally related to traveling by air. In fact, it focused specifically on the passenger’s time spent on the airport. The images that the company created show the device displaying flight information on the screen – the information lets the passenger know about his exact flight as well as the time left in the take-off.

The other image from JetBlue is far more interesting. While on an airport, it can be a quite a hassle to look for power outlets where you can charge up your smartphones or tablets. JetBlue presents a concept in which the Google Glass displays all the power outlets that are available near your gate. This makes the process of discovering these outlets and plugging in your electronic devices very quick and easy.
