Petr Bobek, product manager at Czech Microsoft, has confirmed that the software-giant has plans to launch native Android and iOS applications of Office 2013 next year. In an interview with IHNED, Bobek said that the company had plans to launch Office 2013 apps for both Android and iOS in March of 2013.
Bobek claimed that “in addition to Windows, Office will be also available on other operating systems, Windows Phone, Windows RT, Mac OS, Android, iOS and Symbian.”
A US spokesperson from Microsoft shared a different opinion. Microsoft UK denied any information on the retail availability date for Office 2013. It however reiterated that Office 2013 will be available on Android and iOS.
The Verge reported a formal comment from Microsoft on this matter. It says,
“The information shared by our Czech subsidiary is not accurate. We do not have anything further to share at this time.”
Albeit the denial, the Microsoft spokesperson may hold this information internally.
