There are many websites that are harming legitimate businesses just for their existence. And for this reason the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has targeted 21 sites to shutdown.
Earlier we have seen RIAA shutting down many websites that used to provide copyrighted things illegally. Lately RIAA has found some notorious websites “that are so central to the activities of a particular society that they almost single-handedly prevent the development of a legitimate online music marketplace.” On the other side, Torrentfreak has reported that there are some more websites that are harming legitimate businesses just for their existence and RIAA has decided to shutdown those too in the next few days via UK ISPs.
Virgin Media, telephone, mobile, television and broadband internet service provider in the UK has confirmed that it has “received court orders” to block “21 file-sharing sites” that seems to be “infringing on copyright.” On the other side, British telecom giant British Telecom (BT) has confirmed that it will “only block access to websites engaged in online copyright infringement when ordered by a court to do so.”
Out of the targeted 21 websites that RIAA plans to shutdown, here are the name of some websites: vkontakte, ex.ua, Zing, Filestube, The Pirate Bay, Degraçaémaisgostoso.org, Filestube, Extratorrent, Bitsnoop, Bomb-Mp3, Mp3skull, Bitsnoop, Torrenthound, Torrentreactor and Monova.
