Huawei is conventionally known for producing low-budget, low-end smartphone devices which are primarily intended for the developing markets. However, in recent times, the company has been trying to break into the smartphone market in developed regions. For this purpose, it is trying to add high-end specs to its smartphones.
Huawei already has a number of offerings up its sleeve which are indeed devices with fairly good specs and can be touted as high-end smartphones. This includes, for instance, the Ascend D Quad. In a bid to be a success in the developed markets, Huawei has been trying hard to advertise its devices effectively.
Now, Huawei’s North American research chief John Reese has now stated that Huawei is current looking into 3D gestures that can be used with smartphones. How Huawei intends to accomplish it? To enable support for 3D gestures, the smartphone will have to feature two front-facing cameras as well as a really powerful processor so that the user’s 3D gestures are interpreted and implemented immediately in real-time.
The possibility of such a feature in a smartphone is a pretty thrilling and it may really bolster Huawei’s smartphones to limelight. But we may have to wait for quite some time to actually see this be included in a smartphone.
Huawei also has big plans regarding cloud computing as it is investing heavily into research for the service. It may launch a cloud storage service of its own in the coming days.
