The $25 credit card sized computer Raspberry Pi went on sale in the United States on the eve of Easter. Texas based Allied Electronics was the first local retailer selling the $25 Raspberry Pi in the U.S. And, now it is showing zero availability; that means that the $25 Model A has been sold out completely.
Features:
- 256MB RAM
- Single USB 2.0 socket
- No Ethernet port
- Linux operating system
- HDMI socket
- SD card socket
- 3.5mm audio out socket
- Raspberry Pi HD video camera connector
- Size: 85.6 x 53.98 x 17mm
The Model A is a cheaper version compared to the Model B. The makers cut the price by slashing an Ethernet port and keeping the USB port limited to one only. This enabled the mini-computer to consume a third of the power compared to Model B. The Raspberry Pi Model A miniature ARM–based PC can perform many of the functions of any desktop PC. The Model A is specially made for developers of small and portable devices who do not need internet access and run on lowest possible power.
