Adobe has announced the immediate availability of the software’s follow up, Adobe Photoshop Express 2.0, for Apple iOS devices. The new version, 2.0, adds a new Camera Pack which can be purchased from within the app, which itself is free.
Photoshop Express, which also runs on desktop web browsers and Android devices, boasts over 20 million users. The mobile version offers easy, basic editing of existing or just-snapped photos, along with uploading the results to social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
The new in-app purchase, dubbed “Camera Pack,” ($4) features a powerful noise filter, a self timer (three or 10-second intervals) and Auto Review, which allows users to quickly check pictures and easily delete the “bad” ones immediately after taking them. While the program works on the iPad 2 (and original iPad), it does not yet support the iPad 2 cameras (the company expects to add support in a future update).
Photoshop Express v2 for iOS requires iOS 4.2 or later, and the add-in Camera Pack requires a third- or fourth-generation iPod Touch, or an iPhone (3GS or later) or iPad. The program is presently offered in English only.
Photoshop Express 2.0 for iOS is available for free from the App Store. The Adobe Camera Pack is an in-app purchase costing £2.39.
