Apple Seeded Second Build of Mac OS X 10.6.8 to Developers

Apple seeded the second version of Mac OS X 10.6.8 to developers, build 10K524, and weights in at 1 GB for the Delta Update and 1 GB for the Combo Update. According to people familiar with the matter, focus areas for the build include Airport, Graphics Drivers, Mac App Store, Networking, QuickTime and VPN.

The built 10K521, the first build of Mac OS X 10.6.8, was released around a week back with no details on changes.

The most recent update to Snow Leopard, called Mac OS X 10.6.7, was released on March 21. That update had brought display fixes for Apple’s early 2011 Thunderbolt MacBook Pros, reliability improvements of Back to My Mac along with some performance improvements.

The company has reportedly plans to roll out a major update for Mac OS X this summer with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. Mac OS X Lion takes a number of popular features in iOS, like that of full screen apps and auto save, and brings them back to the Mac.

Apple is expected to unveil the future of Mac OS at its upcoming annual Worldwide Developers Conference that will take place from June 6 to June 10 in San Francisco.
