It is almost clear that HTC is thinking of countering the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini with M4. HTC has just released it’s latest flagship Android smartphone HTC One in mid-March, which has accepted as worthy competitor of the Samsung Galaxy S4. According to reliable sources, the upcoming M4 is a revision of the HTC One, and is expected to be released in June.
HTC’s M4 smartphone is packed within a metal-alloy chassis, exclusively supplied by Catcher Technology. The selection of a sole supplier has been done to avoid any possible delays during production, similar to HTC One. According to sources, HTC may ship 700,000 units of M4 in the second quarter of 2013. The next quarter will see wider availability of the device, according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
According to Digitimes, Catcher is expected to see its revenues grow 10.58-14.87% sequentially to NT$10.21-10.61 billion (US$342.42-355.84 million) in the Q2, because of the deal.
Let’s see if HTC can gain a competitive advantage through it’s M4 over the Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Mini, which has been delayed till July.
