Ever since the leaders of iOS hackers community, iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team, were able to release an untethered jailbreak of iOS 5.1.1 in Absinthe 2.0, this opened a whole world of possibilities for other iOS jailbreaking tools. The Rocky Racoon update landed a little later and now, thanks to this update, a lot of other jailbreaking tools are being updated.




The software which will benefit from the Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 untether include Redsn0w, Pwnage Tool, Cinject and Ultrasn0w. Most of the users who wish to get freedom on their iOS devices have probably already accomplished jailbreaks on their devices Absinthe 2.0.

However, such users who still wish to do so will now be able to accomplish the jailbreak and unlock their devices with the help of these numerous other software which are also getting updated now.

In a way, each of these tools has a fan-following of its own and different users are comfortable with using different tools to jailbreak their devices. For instance, Redsn0w is among the most popular jailbreaking tools and that is why, now that it is being updated with an iOS 5.1.1 untether, a lot of iOS users are rejoicing.

According to the official blog of Dev Team, the following software packages have been updated:

  • PwnageTool has been revised to version 5.1.1
  • Redsn0w has been updated to version 0.9.12b1
  • cinject has been pushed to version 0.5.4
  • Ultrasn0w has gone to version 1.2.7 with iOS 5.1.1 support.
