Republic Wireless’ Data, Voice and Text Plans Are Really Unlimited

Republic Wireless is a new service provider that promises calling, text and data for only $20. It sounded unreal for most people, so they were expecting the nasty monster to come out from under the bed and eat them. So, watch out or you will be torn to pieces.
What was the problem? Well for starters the service, which was basically based on a Wi-Fi connection (VoIP).

Also customers had to watch their data usage very close. Some were actually threatened with cancellation, for this sin. The company also advertised its service as being “unlimited”, but most people didn’t actually understand what that unlimited meant. “Some of you advised that we just step back from being ‘unlimited’,” the company says. “Rather than revising our fair use policy, we’ve decided not to have one at all. There will simply be no thresholds, and no risk of losing service.

But about a month ago, seems that Republic Wireless had a sudden change of heart: “We realize we got it wrong and look forward to improving as we work together to realize common republic wireless goals.” So now, the company has eliminated the threshold that bound potential costumers with no actual risk of losing service. If you purchased your phone during the company’s beta trials, you are automatically a candidate for their new terms. Now that $20 seem to be worth it.
