So far we know that BlackBerry 10.2.1 is supposed to be announced officially on January 28. But seems like Verizon is in hurry as the company has accidentally rolled out BlackBerry 10.2.1 ahead of time.
After rolling out BlackBerry 10.2.1, some of the Verizon subscribers started receiving notification like the above image. As a result, those subscribers who noticed that and instantly downloaded the update were really lucky as they possibly do have the BlackBerry 10.2.1 before it’s released. On the other hand, as soon as Verizon realized the accidental roll out, the company put a halt to it. The reason for the halt could be – the update is not ready to be pushed out yet, at least not until BlackBerry makes it official.
When BlackBerry came to know Verizon’s accidental roll out of BlackBerry 10.2.1 update, the company said in a statement, “A limited number of VZW customers today received the BlackBerry 10.2.1 update however it is not generally available yet. We’ll keep you posted on general availability.”
Whether or not lucky Verizon subscribers have the BlackBerry 10.2.1 update, it is cleared that the BlackBerry 10.2.1 update is already available on Verizon’s server and are good to go. That means, the moment Blackberry announces the BlackBerry 10.2.1 update, Verizon can push its BlackBerry 10 subscribers to adopt the update.
