Viber Rolls Out A Desktop Version

Viber has become one of the most popular text messaging and VoIP services across mobile devices. Much to the jubilation of desktop users, Viber is now rolling out a desktop version of the version of the app.

Viber

Viber app for Android and iOS devices has gained a lot of traction over the past year or so. One of the key reasons for this is simply that Viber offers a functionality similar to Skype, while at the same time consuming much less bandwidth in comparison. Users can make calls through it, transfer files and send messages to each other’s mobile numbers.

The company has released the desktop version of the app for both PC and Mac users. The desktop version is quite easy to install and integrates neatly with the other version of the app that you may be using on your mobile device.

Whereas Viber app for mobile devices generally doesn’t support video calls, this functionality will arrive as part of the desktop version. Users can make desktop-to-desktop video calls using the app. The feature is being introduced as a beta and makes Viber looks like a better, slimmer version of Skype.
