Microsoft is going to release its Surface Tablet with Windows RT on October 26. The company earlier announced that Office 2013 will be included with all Windows RT-powered devices. But, we have come to know that, Windows RT tablet won’t get the full Office 2013.
Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans are saying that the company will ship a Preview version of Office 2013 for Windows RT tablets later this year. The reason for that disappointing decision allegedly comes from battery life and reliability concerns.
Macros, third-party add-ins, Virtual Basic for Applications (VBA) support, and a small number of other features will be excluded from Office 2013 for Windows RT. But not to worry; as there will be an option to update from Preview version to the full version of Office 2013 sometime next year. Microsoft hasn’t confirmed anything about it, yet.
