Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 8, 2011 and the first details of the biggest game of 2011 leaked. The game is expanding outside the United States and in addition to having battles in New York City and our country; Paris and London presumably amongst others of the world’s largest cities will be host to some of the biggest battles in video game history.
The game will reportedly start us off in New York City as the Russians attempt to invade the United States, and eventually take us around the world through 15 missions as multiple characters until we get to the game’s climactic final mission in Dubai. Gamers will be able to play characters on all sides of the conflict, and control multiple vehicles new and old, and tons of new weapons and hardware.
Two Delta Force operatives not named Chuck Norris named “Frost” and “Sandman” are the characters with new stories that, if the series goes on, would potentially be the new main characters. That’s just assuming of course. Keep in mind that Infinity Ward is in shambles and there’s speculation that they might not be able to handle the series going forward without major retooling.
Multiplayer also makes a strong comeback in Modern Warfare 3, and even includes new game types and tons of new maps in addition to some of the older, more familiar multiplayer modes. None of Kotaku’s information has been confirmed by Activision yet, but it all looks solid, and it is unlikely Activision will stay quiet for long with this much information out in the wild.
There will also be new maps for multiplayer obviously and two new Spec Ops modes known as “Mission” and “Survival.”
