Avid followers of Microsoft’s Xbox have been anxiously waiting for the company to release the next version of the immensely popular game console. Whereas the company hasn’t divulged any details as to when the next Xbox may arrive, certain sources claim that it will hit the shelves during 2013 holiday season.
Microsoft’s current game console, Xbox 360, is still quite popular and the company has been able to get fairly handsome sales off it, and continues to do so during the holiday season. On the other hand, other vendors in the game console arena, the likes of Nintendo and Sony, aren’t able to sell half as much consoles as Microsoft does.
Still, the gamers had been expecting from Microsoft to release the next model of Xbox and it would be only so long before they tire of the current model. Especially with Nintendo having released a new model, Wii U, only too recently and Sony with its own plans of launching a new PlayStation console, Microsoft needs to make sure the next Xbox lands safely within 2013.
If the company does ready it for the next year, the holiday season will be an ideal time for it to go on sale. With the thanksgiving gifting frenzy on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and the subsequent Christmas holidays, Microsoft is sure to make a huge sale off the new model.
The inside sources claim that the company is yet unsure as to whether it wants to launch the device in a stand-alone launch event or at some industry show.
