Nintendo has cut the price of its older Wii gaming console ahead of the launch of Wii U. We already know that Wii U will hit U.S. stores on November 18. And, it is the first major upgrade of a top gaming console series this year. And, it seems that Nintendo is trying to sell the last units of Wii devices before the launch of Wii U.
The new price of Nintendo Wii is lower than the price of three Wii games. The discounted retail price of Wii is $129.99 including Wii Sports Resort and Wii Sports. The Wii gaming console with two game bundle is starting to arrive in stores and will be widely available in the U.S. by October 28. The device will ship with a Wii Remote Plus and a Nunchuk controller.
Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing said, “Nearly six years after it launched, people are still attracted to the pure, inclusive fun of the Wii console.” He also added, “A new suggested retail price and the inclusion of two great games make it an easy choice for families looking for a great value this holiday season.”
