Halo 4 Expected To Make Over $300 Million In First Week, Still Beyond Halo 3

The long awaited action-adventure game Halo 4 is out in the open and it is considered the biggest success of the year 2012. It breaks all the previous sales records of this year. The heart trembling action and realistic graphical content draws the full attention of gamers. The sales figure reflects the fact. Just on the launch day, the game sold 3.1 million copies.

Microsoft has announced that the total sales figure was over $220 Millions from day 1 sales. The sales record of Halo 4 also surpassed the biggest box office opening record of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” It is the second best sales figure for the opening day aside from Activision’s last year release “Call of Duty: MW3,” which scored over 7.5 million sales in the first day. It is already assumed that Halo 4 is going to achieve over $300 millions in the first week; that means about $43 million per day.

Not only that, this success also makes the Halo franchise achieved a combined sales beyond$3.38 billion. But it is also true that the 2010 release of the series, Halo 3, debut sales figure is still more than Halo 4. The Halo 3 recorded 15th position as the best-selling game on debut, while Halo 4 was placed to the 18th position after release.

The plot of Halo 4 takes place in a setting of the year 2557, just four years after the events of Halo 3. The Master Chief, John-117, who’d been believed to be dead or missing in action by Covenant and UNSC forces since the end events of the Halo 3 has come back. The game took place in a planet, named Requiem, in a Forerunner world. The game is off first-person shooting strategy genre.

According to Microsoft’s statistics, 4 million players have already subscribed the game from all over the world and spent 31.4 million hours playing it. Every day the number of login has been increased at a significant rate. Microsoft also claims that the the live-action media of Halo4 have generated more than 46 million viewers till now.
