The successor of the Wii called Wii U‘s specifications has been announced by Nintendo. Earlier this year, the company unveiled the Wii U Gamepad at the E3 game conference and after the conference, till yesterday there had been no official word about the specifications of the upcoming Wii U game console. Nintendo has updated its Wikipedia page on September 12 and now it is confirmed that Wii U will come with 8GB of internal flash memory. This device will be available during the fourth quarter of 2012.
The Nintendo Wii U will be shipped with a IBM POWER7 based multi-core processor, a custom AMD Radeon High Definition GPU, a 8GB internal flash memory that is expandable via SD memory cards and USB hard disk drives, 4 × USB 2.0 ports, sensor Bar power port, AV Multi Out port, HDMI 1.4 out port, WiFi, NFC and Bluetooth.
Nintendo has neither declared the specific release date of Wii U nor any word about the pricing. Initially, the device will be available in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan.
