Sapphire shows off 3D gaming on multiple monitors

With 3D already beginning to make a big impact in gaming, graphics card specialists Sapphire is keen to display the latest in PC gaming technology…

Sapphire Technology has recently demonstrated 3D gaming running on three separate screens, and is powered by just a single graphic card from the company, along with ATI’s Eyefinity multi-monitor functionality. The monitors used were Zalman’s Trimon 3D monitors, and the 3D support was added by running an additional 3D driver from iZ3D. This setup means that users will be able to fiddle with 3D gaming on multiple displays.

This technology demonstrates that games and applications can be displayed in 3D on multiple screens, and run smoothly, without the need for multiple graphics cards or expensive shutter glasses,” said Bill Donnelly, Global PR Director for Sapphire.

without having to shell out too much money for multiple graphics cards or expensive shutter glasses. This approach allowed a satisfactory result to be achieved using low cost glasses. Of course, despite the glasses being low cost, the three 3D monitors, and Eyefinity-supporting graphics card will do a good job of lightening your wallet somewhat.

Of course, three 3D monitors, the glasses and the graphics card may make your wallet a little less three dimensional, but we’d certainly like to give the technology a try.
