Sony PlayStation has been down some hours ago. It’s not clear exactly for what region it’s down. Sony PlayStation 3 owners in multiple regions (including North America, Europe, and Australia) are facing the inability to sign into the PlayStation Network online gaming service, corrupted user data and inability to play some games online or off. There’s no ETA on when things will get back to normal.
An user on a PlayStation forum says:
At least if it’s all of us it isn’t just a console issue. Just wondering how long it’l be. I HAVEN’T PLAYED GAMES FOR HALF HOUR NOW. I’M GOING TO KILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
The problems are accompanied by the 8001050F error code. When they try to load up certain games — including the just-released Heavy Rain — they receive the error code and the following message: “Registration of the trophy information could not be completed.”
According to one user over at the official PlayStation boards, the error does not prevent him from using the Internet via his PS3, but logins have become nigh impossible. Several other users chimed in after that comment to report identical problems.

Sony’s tweeted that it’s “looking into it,” and our boys at Joy say that owners of original PS3s are seeing their clocks reset and even data loss in some cases. We’ll keep you updated.
Well i don't see how not being able to sign into the PSN would stop me from playing Metal Gear Solid 1 that I downloaded the previous night. I mean that game doesn't have to connect to the internet, any ideas anyone?
The problem stops you from logging in and playing any game that was bought with a PSN account or any game using trophies. according to some people they have loss themes and trophies for certain games. I recently bought pixel junk shooter and the MGS4 pack for LBP so Im sadly disappointed now.

dammit i gt 60 phat ps3 and was playin fine last night !!! went to log in today and date was 1/1/00? wtf fix it!!!!!!!!! i only got online 2 weeks ago and just brought MAG!! and lvl 36 in MW2!! damn sony ill go xbox if i have to! and i hate xbox!!
This totally freakin sucks. I just downloaded the new DLC for borderlands the other day, it was a 3 1/2 hour download and now it's completely gone, along with the other two dlc packs for the game and the trophy info!! I hope this shit gets fixed soon cause I really don't wanna have to trade my fatty in for another slim!!!
it seems to be only the FAT PS3 systems that are down me and a friend have both got the original 60gb version and we have the same problem but on the other hand one of our friends have the NEW SLIM LINE and it is working fine

Well not happy about thhis i think because it's sony's fault they should either get it sorted quick or give refunds beci'm sure there are people out there that don't appreciate the fact they have a £450 console that is of no use at all. Same roblem here in west cork,fat ps3 Do not wnt a slim one. fix t or a full refnd please. Hope my saves are not corrpted, took me a month or more to get Legend on grid.

I have a gen 1 ps3, 80GB, seems like I lost some trophies too. I had 85% in Dragon Age, now they aren't even in my menu. That game in particular won't start either, keep booting me out.
so we all realise a problem any news from someone that knows what the problem is and when it will be sorted

Wow, reading these I don’t feel so bad. I have a 120GB Slim and the only problem is that I can’t sign into PSN to play online. I still have all my trophies and downloads. Sorry to everyone who is getting majorly screwed over by this bug.
