Sony has released super slim PlayStation 3 at Tokyo Game Show on Friday. It is a redesignEd device of existing PS3. The thinner looking redesigned PS3 will hit the US market this fall. The company already announced the price tag and launch date. Initially, Sony will release two versions of PS3 that will be available from September 25.
The 250 GB storage version of super slim PS3 will come with an Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and downloadable content for Dust 514. The price of this version is $269.
The 500 GB slimmer PS3 version will be available from October 30 in a limited edition bundle with Assassin’s Creed III. This package will cost $299.
The new PS3 is 20 percent smaller and 25 percent lighter comparing to its current PS3. The weight of the redesigned PS3 is 1.1 pounds less than its predecessor. The important thing is that the company has used a sliding door panel to top load discs instead of a slot-loading disc drive in the device. The new PS3 is power consuming that can drop from 200W to 190W.
With 12GB flash hard drive and aforementioned packages, the super slim PS3 will be available on September 28 for other territories gamers. White colored super slim PS3 will be available in Japan from late November, but the company till now has not mentioned the availability outside of Japan.
Earlier in July, some evidences were revealed of Sony’s super slim PlayStation 3. Then we saw that the super slim PS3 might come with 160GB, 250GB and 500GB storage, and the price range would be on sub-$200 price level.
