Valve’s Pipeline Guides High School Students About Careers In Gaming Industry

Valve is one of the prime places to work at in the gaming industry. However, only the top professionals with excellent expertise are able to land a job at the company. Nonetheless, you can still have hope even if you are a high school student. Valve has now launched an experimental project, Pipeline, to guide such students about the game industry.

Pipeline

The intent of this project is to help the high school students get a clear view of the video game industry. Normally, it is hard for a high school student to land a lucrative enough job at a top company in the game industry. This does not mean that these students can entirely give up on such careers.

According to Valve, “Pipeline is an experiment to see if we can take a group of high school students with minimal work experience and train them in the skills and methods necessary to be successful at a company like Valve.”

The company further states that through the project, it hopes to connect with the teenagers who are interested in video games and help them land a job in the video game industry. It isn’t clear yet as to how Valve intends to accomplish this. It is possible that the company starts offering interships and other opportunities to the stand-out high school students.

This can also serve as an apt stepstone for Valve to recruit just the right kind of human resources for the tomorrow of the company. One hopes that other companies in the video game industry follow in these footsteps.
