AT&T carrier is doing something different which is definitely not liked by the iPhone customers of AT&T. The company has started displaying a message to the iPhone users who tried to tether their phone via USB. In a stern SMS to select subscribers, the carrier warned that those who don’t pay and continue to tether their phones illegally would be automatically upgraded and charged for its $45 per month tethering plan.
It’s just a reiteration of a previous ultimatum, but it’s pretty clear AT&T means business here. Expect life for the frugal jailbreak tetherer to become a lot more complicated in coming weeks.
