Chronic Dev Team member pod2g has confirmed that Apple iOS 4.2.6 for Verizon iPhone 4 has been jailbroken. Verizon iPhone 4 is jailbroken using Greenpois0n. The hacker asked through his Twitter account that they need to test Greenpois0n for Verizon iPhone. In reply he got confirmations from his followers that indeed the GP works and jailbreaks CDMA Verizon Wireless iPhone 4.

A few hours back, iPhone hacking maestro pod2g, famous for the GreenPois0n exploit, asked in tweet that whether or not the latest version of GreenPois0n was compatible with the new hardware, that is the Verizon iPhone 4.

Later, while receiving several replies from people willing to test, it seems that it may now be possible to jailbreak Verizon iPhone 4 using GreenPois0n RC5 and even a later build which most probably is GreenPois0n RC6.

The following instructions will help you jailbreak your CDMA based iPhone 4 untethered on Verizon using the latest version of GreenPois0n.

Step 1: Download GreenPois0n

Step 2: Connect your Verizon CDMA iPhone 4 via USB to your computer and click on “Jailbreak” .

Step 3: Now follow the instructions to enter DFU mode:

* Press and hold the sleep button for 2 seconds
* Continue holding sleep; press and hold home for 10 seconds.
* Release sleep button; continue holding home for 15 seconds.

Step 4: GreenPois0n will now start “Jailbreaking” your iPhone, untethered on 4.2.6.

Step 5: Your iPhone should now be successfully jailbroken on iOS 4.2.6. Now start “Loader” found on the homescreen and install Cydia.
