iPhone 4 Carrier Unlock is Just Two Step Closer for iPhone Dev Team

We all know iPhone Dev Team members got success in iPhone 4 Jailbreak and very close to Carrier Unlock. Today MuscleNerd Tweeted that he is just two-step Closer from unlock.

MuscleNerd has always been spokesman for iPhone Dev Team. he is the man who confirmed us that @comex had a userland jailbreak for all iphone, he also reported that he and @planetbeing is working on unlock. We reported before that iPhone 4 has a complete different system. Report says –

The Dev Team and others have checked through the iPhone 4, and have noticed the baseband runs a completely different OS than on previous models. The iPhone 3G and 3G[S] both ran Nucleus OS on the PMB8878 baseband CPU (aka XGold 608), where the iPhone 2G ran the PMB8876 (aka S-Gold 2). iPhone 4 uses the PMB9800, or X-Gold 618 – running a separate OS – ThreadX, an RTOS by ExpressLogic.

Just 2 days ago we reported about their progress about Unlock in an article. Now today Musclenerd tweeted that he made more progress. He tweeted

Good progress on iPhone4 unlock with @planetbeing: http://is.gd/dh2WE <-injected cmd! (Akin to http://is.gd/dh2Ze on 3G)

He also shown us his progess as he already injected cmd inside iPhone 4 system

He tweeted

Next step is to keep the task backgrounded like we did for 3G/3GS http://is.gd/dh7Jh. Backgrounded task is the unlock.

He also showing us video which shows 3G baseband tool, and persistent nucleus tasks in action.
