The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry with a Global Mobile Awards ceremony as well. This year’s “Phone of the Year” award went to none other than Apple iPhone 4. Other nominees of iPhone 4 were the Android powered Samsung Galaxy S and HTC Desire, LG Optimus 7 running on Windows Phone 7 and RIM’s Blackberry Torch 9800.
This is what the judges had to say about iPhone 4:
Great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In a tight race, the iPhone 4 built on the success of its predecessors to set the pace for smart phones.
HTC though on the other hand grabbed the award for “Device Manufacturer of the Year”.
