It appears that sending smartphones up to the edge of this planet’s atmosphere is the norm these days and the iPhone 4S now joins those that have boldly gone before.FinalCutKing has sent two new iPhone 4S devices into space to capture some amazing video and photographs, from setting up to launch and then retrieving the handsets when they fell back to Earth. So for iPhone 4S fans and space fans alike head on down an check out the iPhone 4S capturing footage of the old globe’s atmosphere……………..
Many people have bought an iPhone 4S already, but none of us have sent our iPhone to space and a YouTube user by the name of FinalCutKing did. He purchased two iPhone 4s’s on launch day and put them in a helium balloon. He then sent them up and waited patiently for them to fall safely back to Earth. While the iPhones were up there, they took some amazing footage of the Earth’s atmosphere.
We launched 2 iPhone 4S phones with a weather balloon to go up to 100,000. We put one of the iPhone 4S’s on an interval photo timer app and the other on video mode. We used s Spot GPS tracker (though I would not recommend it because it only tracks in 15 minutes increments.
We will be posting a behind the scene video as well as a more in depth tutorial for those of you who want to do something similar. The FAA was also involved so no airplanes were hurt in the making.
