iPhone Dev Team member “MuscleNerd” just tweeted about update of iOS 4.0 JailBreaking tool redsn0w 0.9.5. This version lets you individually select whether multitasking and homescreen wallpaper are enabled. It also adds battery percentage and verbose boot mode options.
This is Beta 2 for redsn0w version 0.9.5. Its near final version, as iOS official release time is very near(21st June, 2010). This beta release, like all the previous ones is meant for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G only, running iOS 4 (formerly iPhone OS 4). Apart from multitasking and wallpapers support on iOS 4.0 on iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G, this version also brings support to enable battery percentage which otherwise is disabled by Apple.
Quoted From Deb Team announcement
The latest redsn0w beta lets you individually select whether multitasking and homescreen wallpaper are enabled. It also adds battery percentage and verbose boot mode options. (Verbose boot shows you the kernel messages during boot)
Note: Once you enable battery percentage, you actually toggle it off and on via Settings→General→Usage.
If you change your mind about any of the settings, just re-run redsn0w again (be sure not to reinstall Cydia if you do that).
The redsn0w beta is still only for 4.0GM on iPhone3G and ipt2G (non-MC version). Don’t use the beta yet if you use yellowsn0w/ultrasn0w/blacksn0w!
Becareful: This release is strictly meant for official activated iPhones, if you rely on an unlock, stay away from this release.
