Of all iPhone Clones Meizu M8 is the only clone that made the biggest buzz. Not only that it was the closest copy of the “Jesus Phone”, rumors of the M8 circulated even before the iPhone was released.Meizu’s chief Jack Wong today said his company’s M9 smartphone would ship in China on Christmas day. The Android phone widely considered to be an iPhone clone should reach Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen at the same time and will expand to other cities and countries later.
The M9 will also be upgradeable to Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which was recently announced, to take advantage of built-in VoIP support as well as a full 32-bit color output. With Android 2.3, Meizu may also give the the M9’s user interface an overhaul as well. The device has a display resolution of 960 X 640, which is identical in resolution to Apple’s Retina Display on the iPhone. The 8 GB model will retail for $375 and the 16 GB model will sell for $405.
